How it works

The main areas needing 'hands on' experience are Foster Care, Home Checking and Transport. There is one form covering Home Check and Transport and 2 forms for Fostering.

If you are prepared to do all three please complete all forms.

There may be other skills you wish to offer and are on the forms. If you are interested in any of these the Secretary will contact you when she has received the forms showing your interest.

When accepted you will be sent a copy of our Guidelines.

Prospective Volunteers who would like to help us in any way should complete the appropriate Volunteer Application form below:

Section 1 - Contact information

Section 2 - Specialised skills

Your answers to these questions will help us match your interests and skills to a volunteer assignment.

Section 3 - Dog handling

Section 4 - Foster care

About Westie Rescue Scheme

About Westie Rescue Scheme

We are a national organisation formed by the late Barbara Graham in the late 1970's. Initially we consisted of a few caring colleagues who struggled to make ends meet against all odds and in the face of adversity. The more widely recognised The Westie Rescue Scheme of the present day came into being in 1993. The Scheme now has over 2500 registered 'friends'.
