October Greater Manchester Westie Walk
10 October 2021
We had a lovely walk at Pennington Flash, Leigh, although the turnout was a little disappointing. The weather was dry and the humans and had a good time walking and chatting. The photo is of Ole, Dolly & Betty. Tilly was also on our walk but she never stays long enough to get her in the photo. They had fun chasing one another and having a paddle.
We can assure you that your Westie will have had its new home checked and approved. The new owners will be told all that you have told us about your Westie.
We are a national organisation formed by the late Barbara Graham in the late 1970's. Initially we consisted of a few caring colleagues who struggled to make ends meet against all odds and in the face of adversity. The more widely recognised The Westie Rescue Scheme of the present day came into being in 1993. The Scheme now has over 2500 registered 'friends'.
The WRS Dog Sponsorship Scheme is there to care for those Westies who require indefinite and intensive treatment.
This initiative was first brought into existence in 2006 and is designed to help us to continue to care for those dogs who may stay within the scheme for a longer period of time than normal or, as is the case in many instances, indefinitely.
