APRIL GREATER MANCHESTER WESTIE WALK
13 April 2022
What a turnout we had and what a lovely walk it was on Sunday 10th April at Burrs Country Park, Bury, Greater Manchester. The sun was shining and it was quite warm. We had 15 Westies & 1 Scottie and raised £38.56 for the Westie Rescue Scheme. Thank you for everyone who came. See you all again soon.
We can assure you that your Westie will have had its new home checked and approved. The new owners will be told all that you have told us about your Westie.
We are a national organisation formed by the late Barbara Graham in the late 1970's. Initially we consisted of a few caring colleagues who struggled to make ends meet against all odds and in the face of adversity. The more widely recognised The Westie Rescue Scheme of the present day came into being in 1993. The Scheme now has over 2500 registered 'friends'.
The WRS Dog Sponsorship Scheme is there to care for those Westies who require indefinite and intensive treatment.
This initiative was first brought into existence in 2006 and is designed to help us to continue to care for those dogs who may stay within the scheme for a longer period of time than normal or, as is the case in many instances, indefinitely.
